Jordan Blashek is a Program Officer at Schmidt Futures, helping to advance shared American prosperity. In this role, Jordan helps drive research into economic mobility, initiatives to promote workforce opportunity, and efforts to promote rising wages for all Americans through technological solutions.
Prior to Schmidt Futures, Jordan served five years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Captain. He commanded units ranging in size from 40 to 250 Marines during two deployments to the Middle East and Afghanistan, respectively. From 2011-2012, he led a helicopter-borne raid force as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, a crisis response task force positioned in the Horn of Africa. In 2013, he served as a combat advisor in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he trained and advised the 215 Corps of the Afghan National Army. In addition to his military experience, Jordan serves on the board of Operation Gratitude, a non-profit that supports U.S. troops deployed overseas.
Jordan holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a B.A. from Princeton University.
