Amy Westervelt is a writer and editor covering the environment, health, tech, and business. She has contributed regularly to The Guardian UK, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, along with many other publications. Amy has been on staff at Spa Magazine, Earth Island Journal, Heeb, VenusZine, Planet Magazine, Soma and Sustainable Industries.
She has also worked as a stringer for Allure and Modern Bride. In 2007, Amy won a Folio Eddie for her feature on the potential of algae as a feedstock for biofuel. In 2015 she was awarded a Rachel Carson award for “women greening journalism”, and in 2017 Amy won an Edward R. Murrow award for a series on the impacts of the Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada.
