Alex Knoll is a 13-year-old app inventor and international speaker from the United States. Alex has addressed thousands of people all around the world about human rights, equality, accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities, kindness to others and the importance of STREAM education. Alex enjoys speaking to people about the things they can do (big and small) to help make this world a better place for others.
Alex is best known for an app that he is currently developing that can help people with disabilities navigate public spaces and find safe, reliable services and employment called Ability App. Alex has received numerous awards for Ability App including I-Cubed Inventor’s Challenge, Discovery 3M Young Scientist’s Challenge for the State of Idaho, as well as the AT&T and Imagination Foundation’s Worldwide Inventor’s Challenge.
Alex has appeared multiple times on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Alex and his app have also been featured on the cover of TIME Magazine for Kids, NBC News, BBC3, Sky News, The Irish Times, Miami Herald and many more.
In his free time, Alex enjoys drawing, volunteering, working on Ability App and researching ways to improve the environment. His heroes are Ellen DeGeneres (TV Talk Show Host & Comedian), Tim Cook (Apple CEO), and Elon Musk (SpaceX and Tesla CEO), all champions of making the world a better place.
